AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK - this committee plans activities for our students (working closely with the principal) for American Education Week in November. Events for this week are centered on the theme for the particular year. |

BOOK EXCHANGE - this committee allows the children to exchange their "old books" for other children's "old books". This is done twice yearly, once in the fall and then again in spring. On the first week, the children give their teachers the books that they want to exchange and the teachers give them a coupon. The following week, the children are allowed to exchange as many books as they have brought in. |

BOOK FAIR - this program allows students to purchase books for personal collections and also earn books for the school media center. There is usually a book fair during the fall (American Education Week) and again in the spring, which has traditionally been a "buy one get one free" or "half price" event. This committee oversees and coordinates all the details of these two events. |

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION & LABELS FOR EDUCATION (LABEL TABLE) - this is an additional source of income for the organization that requires no investment other than time. Box Tops for Education ar available on General Mills and Betty Crocker products and are worth 10 cents each and checks are sent directly to the school twice a year after the box tops have been turned in. Labels for Education are found on Campbell Soup Products and can be used to purchase various school supplies through a catalog put out by the company. Thic committee is responsible for the collection, trimming, and turning in of the labels by the specified deadline. A Label Table Shopping Day will take place the first Monday of each month, during the lunch periods, allowing the students to bring in their labels and "buy" various trinkets, crafts, and packaged food. The committee will be responsible for scheduling parent donations and parent volunteers to man the table as well as organize the labels. |

CRAFT FAIR - our craft fair has always been referred to as "one of the best around" by both crafters and craft enthusiasts. This event is usually held on the first Saturday in November. This committee solicits and organizes crafters, including contracts, collection of fees, layout and setup of the entire craft fair and advertising and publicity of the event. |

CRAFT FAIR BAKE SALE - this is a very sucessful fundraising effort and supplement to the craft fair kitchen. This committee is responsible for collecting donations of bake goods from parent volunteers, pricing items, setting up the times for the sale, and manning the table during the course of the fair. |

CRAFT FAIR KITCHEN - the craft fair kitchen is a fundraising effort in conjunction with the annual craft fair, providing lunch items and refreshments for sale in the elementary kitchen and cafeteria. This committee is responsible for planning the menu, shopping for supplies, soliciting donations from the school parents, organizing volunteers to man the kitchen for smooth running throughout the craft fair. |

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE - This committee recognizes volunteers, community members, and/or businesses who are dedicated to our school and our community. They go the "extra mile" for the welfare of the children from our school and community. Nominations are taken during March and April. The awards are then presented at the last R.S.V.P. meeting of the year. |

FACULTY APPRECIATION - this committee plans ways to show our appreciation and thanks for teachers and staff at Warwood School. These include Service Personnel Day in February and Teacher Appreciation Luncheon in May. A luncheon is usually provided for the teachers as well as lunch room and playground duty relief and tokens of appreciation are presented. Service Personnel are also recognized with a token of appreciation, lunch certificates, and/or cookies and doughnuts. This committee is responsible for planning these events and providing the volunteers to assist with the luncheon and various duties. |

FIELD DAY - this activity allows for fun and fitness. It is held outside on the school grounds. Many games and fitness activities will be planned. This event is held the last few days of school and is a huge success. We need many volunteers! |

FUNDRAISING - this is a twice a year endeavor, a fall "booklet" sale and a spring Sarris Candy sale. It has been extremely successful in the past and is a MAJOR source of income for our orginization. The committee works closely with the administration in choosing the company, helping tally orders, and counting money. |

HOMEROOM PARTIES - this committee plans and coordinates the holiday parties and activities for our students which include a Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine Party. Activities are planned on an individual class basis according to needs and desires of each homeroom teacher. The chairperson is responsible for organizing and maintaining the parent volunteers for each homeroom. |

| HOSPITALITY - this committee is responsible for coordinating and serving refreshments at all meetings and functions. This includes the Kindergarten Parent Breakfast and Kindergarten Screening. The supplies for this committee are stored in the cupboard in the closet in the gym. |

LITERACY COMMITTEE - this committee is designed to encourage extracurricular reading for our students. The chairperson works closely with a panel of teachers who help design the format of the program. |

MEDIA MOMS - this group of parents helps our librarian keep the media center in good working order. They card all new books and in the past have scheduled and conducted an annual "clean the media center day". |

| MEMBERSHIP - this committee is responsible for the annual membership drive, tracking memberships, keeping a membership roster, and conducting membership drive award parties. |

RED RIBBON WEEK - this is a week of planned activities and promotions for Drug Awareness and "Just Say No" during a designated week in October. This committee works with the principal in planning the various activities some of which have included: Just Say No Pledge activities, a balloon launch, and a "Say Boo to Drugs" Halloween parade. |

SATURDAY SCHOLARS - this is one Saturday the kids love to spend at school! Just for fun classes are offered at no charge to our students usually on hte last Saturday in February. This committee is responsible for the planning and organizing of the volunteers, instructors, and class set-ups of the day. Also, in advance, scheduling is done so that each child is given an opportunity to select what class they want to participate in. |

STUDENT APPRECIATION - this committee is designed to encourage extracurricular reading for our students. The chairperson works closely with a panel of teachers who help design the format of the program. |

THANKSGIVING & EASTER BASKETS - this committee conducts two yearly food drives, collecting non-parishable food for the needy in our community. Our school works in conjunction with the Warwood Methodist Church in the assembly and distribution of these food baskets. |

VALENTINE DANCE - this is a new committee. We want to have a Valentine Dance in February. Along with the dance will be dinner, entertainment, and music. |

YEARBOOK - this committee works with a publisher to produce a lasting keepsake of the school year for our students. Yearbooks are sold in the spring. This committee takes photographs of the children over the course of the year at various functions (with parent permission slips collected at the beginning of the year) then they work together compliling the pictures and setting up the layouts to be sent on to the publisher. |
