Mr. Howard V. Corcoran

Board member Howard V. Corcoran Jr. has been employed in the brokerage business for 31 years as a financial advisor and wealth manager. He is currently employed by Robert, Coss, Corcoran & Brannare in their Wheeling office. A graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School, Corcoran earned a bachelor's degree in education from Morehead State University, Ky. He was a teacher and coach in the Santa Fe school district of Lakeland, Fla. Corcoran has served as director of the West Virginia Secondary Schools Athletic Commission's Super Six State Football Championships, held in Wheeling each year. He is now a consultant to the games. A past race director of the Ogden 20K Classic, he has been an active committee member of the event for 30 plus years. Corcoran also is active in numerous other community events that help children. Corcoran was a charter member of the Wheeling Park High School Touchdown Club, a member of Coach Dick Dei's Track Meet Officials for 15 years, also a member of the WPHS Football Parents, a past President of the WPHS Wrestling Parents and also WPHS Soccer Parents Club. The Corcoran family has been a long-time supporter of the WPHS 300 Club. Corcoran also has raised funds for for many school projects, including the Wheeling Park High School Track, the Pro Grass turf project at Wheeling Island Stadium, the weight room at Wheeling Park High School and the Anchor Program at Madison School. Currently, Corcoran is a member of the executive board of the West Virginia School Boards Association as vice president. Corcoran also serves on the WVSBA's Legislative Committee, and he was appointed to the West Virginia County Board Member Training Standards Committee by the State Board of Education. Corcoran has been married to his wife, Sandy, a former Ohio County teacher, for 41 years. They have three children and four grandchildren. |
