   Ms. Nicolette Kacmarik has been a teacher and principal in the Ohio County School System for 28 years   She began her career  at St. John's School in Wellsburg, WV.  Since 1978, she has served the students at Madison Elementary School on Wheeling Island.

     Mrs. Kacmarik received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 1973.   She completed both her masters and Educational Leadership degrees at West Virginia University.  Over the years, she has received numerous professional honors including: KDKA Thanks to Teachers honoree, Ohio County Schools Teacher of the Year, Language Arts Teacher of the Year, Wheeling Civitan Club Outstanding Educator award, and West Virginia House of Delegates Excellence in Teaching award.

     From 1997 to 2001, Mrs. Kacmarik served as an adjunct lecturer at West Liberty State College. She is a member of the Ohio County Principals' Association, the Ohio Valley Language Arts Council, and the West Virginia State Reading Association.
