The TMS music program has a long history of exellence. The chorus, concert band, jazz ensemble, strings orchestra, and wind ensemble have high standards of achievement. Every group competes in a plethora of different competitons.

The chorus, under the direction of Joyce Jingle, competes in Sola & Ensemble. Many of its members also compete in the solo part of the event. The chorus also holds a yearly spring musical. Members of every grade take part in singing and dnacing onstage.

The jazz ensemble, directed by David Alfred, performs at many events including the Celebration of the Arts, Wheeling Hospital conferences, and Student Appreciation Week celebrations at the many elementary schools. They also compete in West Virginia Jazz Festival.

In the late spring, the chorus, jazz ensemble, strings orchestra, and wind ensemble compete in the Music in the Parks in Cedar Point. This past year the TMS music department received superior ratings in every category, as well as winning the first place trophies in the Middle School A division and Judges' Choice in every catorgory.
