Golden Horseshoe is exclusively for eighth grade. The students register in their Social Studies, and they compete in state and regional competition. The Golden Horseshoe has been given every year since 1931.

This year there were 5 students from Ohio County that were eligible to recieve the honor of being called "Knights or Ladies of the Golden Horseshoe." Three of these students were from Triadelphia Middle School. These students were Annie Barbeau, Taylor Albertini, and Lauren Smaltz.
