The quality of teachers employed by Ohio County Schools is exemplified by results of recent data. A profile of first, second, and third year teachers shows that over 50% are honor graduates. Forty percent hold advanced degrees, and sixty-two percent have prior teaching experience. The mean age is 30.1.

Staff Development programs provide opportunities for educators and service personnel to enhance professional knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Staff Development programs are held throughout the year.

The Teacher Induction Program (TIP) in Ohio County Schools provides orientation, support, and training for non-tenured and tenured teachers. The Teacher Induction Program (TIP) is a three-year program for teachers entering the system or profession and is designed to develop a strong collegial network, to provide knowledge of current classroom research, as well as, disseminate up-to-date information about the system.
