Stifel Award Information

The George E. Stifel Awards are presented annually to Ohio County students in grades 5-12 in recognition of outstanding academic achievement. Students in grade 10 and 11 who want to be eligible for the Stifel Awards must sign up and take the PSAT that will be given at Wheeling Park High School on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. For JUNIORS, this exam is also the Qualifying Exam for the National Merit Scholarship. The cost of the exam is $16 and you can register with the counseling office secretaries. Checks may be payable to Wheeling Park High School. Registration will run through Thursday, October 5th. Register early so you can use the practice test in the Student Bulletin. Financial assistance is available for students who qualify. Please see Ms. Patton in the Counseling Office if you have any questions. ONLY students in grades 10 and 11 will need to take the PSAT to be eligible for the Stifel Awards. The previous year’s summative assessment scores will be used for students in grades 9 and 12.
